Question:
How do I upgrade my SnapStream software to the newest version?
Answer:
Upgrading to the latest software version of SnapStream is a relatively straightforward process.
- The release notes can be found here: https://www.snapstream.com/support/release-notes
A normal upgrade for your type of system would take about 15-30 minutes, depending on how many different encoders and servers there are. A large enterprise cluster may take longer. - You'll need to identify a window where it's okay to not have recordings ongoing as during the upgrade we will need to stop and restart SnapStream software services.
- We will need to remotely access the server normally using LogMeIn Rescue or if you prefer some other remote assistance software (e.g. WebEx) we can accommodate. Normally all SnapStream devices (encoders, servers, cluster nodes, etc.) would need to be upgraded.
- You can schedule the time you would like one of our engineers to perform the upgrade on your system by going to http://www.snapstream.com/upgrade. Doing so will schedule a calendar request with you and one of our support engineers and will be tracked with a support ticket.
We look forward to assisting in getting you to the latest version so you can take advantage of new features and improvements.
