Question:
What are the different ways to export TV content out of Moco?
Answer:
Clips can be exported (copied) out of Moco to another storage system. Recent updates to the software have opened new available paths for exporting to different locations including external storage on your network, a variety of cloud storage options, and content management systems.
Exports can be performed during clip creation by using the Clip and Export option.
You can also export clips that have already been created. This is done by going to the Clips view of the WebUI, selecting the clips you want to export, and clicking the More Actions button > Export.
Use of the Export option does not affect the file availability in the Moco Web User Interface. A copy of the file is sent to the chosen location, but the original file will remain until deleted from the Moco system.
**NOTE: In order to preserve the closed captioning information in the SRT files, it will be necessary to select the "Copy Auxiliary Files" option upon export.**
Below is a current list of available Export destinations that can be configured and integrated with Snapstream:
- Amazon S3
- Box
- Brightcove
- Dropbox
- Local Folder (or UNC path)
- Frame.io
- FTP
- Google Cloud Storage
- Google Drive
- JW Platform
- Kaltura
- Microsoft Azure Blob
- Microsoft OneDrive
- Ooyala
- SFTP
- Sony Ci
- Vimeo
If you require assistance with configuring any of these, please reach out to support@snapstream.com and a technician will be happy to help where possible.
Additional Notes:
Configuring these export locations can involve two different sections of the Moco WebUI.
- Admin > External Accounts
- Admin > Folders (in the Export Destinations section)
For some types of web driven storage solutions, it may be necessary to setup the External Account first before you can setup the export folder in Admin > Folders (Export Destinations).
