State of live streaming to Periscope using SnapStream
Question:
My Periscope streams are ending prematurely. What is the reason for that?
Answer:
Your Periscope streams may be ending prematurely because Periscope is forcefully terminating the connection to end the stream. This may be due to your recording/file not meeting the specs to stream or exceeds the maximum allowed bitrate.
The supported specifications for streaming to Periscope are as followed:
Video Bitrate & Codec: 2500 kbps (recommended), 4000 kbps (max), H.264
Audio Bitrate & Codec: 128 kbps AAC-LC
Framerate: 30 fps
Resolution: 1280 x 720
Additional Notes:
- One potential workaround to get your recordings to stream properly is to change the encoding profile of the stream to meet spec. You can contact a SnapStream Support Engineer for assistance on how to do this.
- Another workaround would be to transcode the file/recording to a resolution suitable for Periscope.
Applies to Version:
SnapStream 9.0 and later
