Question:
Can I configure a SnapStream Encoder to boost the Audio Level coming from my television source?
Answer:
Yes! It is always best to adjust the audio from the source itself, but the SnapStream Encoder can boost the audio gain instead as part of the encoding process. You can have the SnapStream Encoder do this by editing the Content Stream on the SnapStream Encoder that is responsible for the source (see below).
- Browse to the SnapStream Encoder's WebUI, and sign in.
- Click the Edit icon next to the Content Stream that is responsible for encoding that particular television source. In the example below, we will be boosting the Audio Level for Stream #1.
- Click on the Volume Level bar to where you want the adjustment to be, and click the Save button at the bottom right corner of the Edit Stream page.
NOTE: The default Volume Level is 50 where no audio adjustment is being made. Going to 100 will result in a 10x volume increase, so consider starting with small adjustments to test.
Additional Notes:
The Volume Level adjustment does not appear when adding a Content Stream for the first time. It will only appear when editing an already existing Content Stream.
Applies to Version:
SnapStream Software version 8.4 and above.
