Accessing the Snapstream 4-Channel Encoder’s Web Interface

The SnapStream 4-Channel Encoder provides a robust web interface that allows users to customize settings such as Format Profile, enable or disable streams, and more. Here's how to access your SnapStream Encoder's web interface.

Accessing the Web Interface Directly

If you are logged into the encoder via Windows, then you can access the encoder's web interface via the following method:

  • Open a browser on the SnapStream encoder.
  • Point the browser to http://localhost/ to access the login page.
  • Enter the credentials for your encoder to access the settings.

Accessing the Web Interface Locally

Before you can log into the SnapStream encoder's web interface, you first must have access to it. Typically SnapStream encoders are only accessible via the local network. Your device needs to have access to the same local network where the encoder resides in order to access the encoder. Once you've verified this, you will need to:

  • Open a browser and input the encoder's IP address or DNS name.
  • Point the browser to http://localhost/ to access the login page.
  • Enter the credentials for your encoder to access the settings.

Troubleshooting Encoder Access

If you're experiencing trouble trying to accessing your SnapStream encoder's web interface, then try these troubleshooting step.

  • Ensure that the encoder is powered up and online.
  • You may require physical access to the encoder to verify that it is powered up and online.
  • Check Firewall Settings.
  • If you're having trouble accessing the encoder's web interface via the IP address or DNS name, then verify that there are no firewall restriction in place that could be blocking traffic on ports 80 or 443 to the encoder.
  • Using the IP address of the encoder still doesn't connect to the web interface.
  • The device that you're using to connect to the encoder may not have network access to the same network where the encoder resides.
  • The IP address of the encoder may have changed. This may have happened as a result of the encoder's IP settings being set to DHCP instead of a  static IP address.
  • Credentials not working.
  • Your SnapStream Administrator should have the credentials to log into the encoder. If you are a SnapStream Administrator and experiencing troubles with your credentials, please contact Support.
