Question:
I scheduled a recording, but it doesn't appear in the guide and/or it is not recording? The Program Guide has no entry for it or it is showing up as red/conflicting.
Answer:
SnapStream's recording system relies on "Tuners" and the number of licenses acquired. This impacts the number of simultaneous recordings you can carry out. When the number of recording jobs exceeds the available tuners during a specific time slot, recording conflicts arise. These conflicts are automatically managed according to the priority assigned to each recording job on the Schedule page.
SnapStream can display the recordings that will be omitted because of a recording conflict. To view the recordings that will be skipped:
- Navigate to the Schedule page from the top.
- In the left-hand pane, select Conflicted to show the list of recordings that are unable to record.
- Additionally, in the left-hand panel, you can locate recording conflicts for Today, Tomorrow, or for a particular date in the future.
- Once you have located your recording job, you have a few options in the bottom right of that tile:
- Force: Forces SnapStream to capture this episode. Forcing a recording may lead to another job not being recorded. To check which recordings will be impacted, click on the View Recordings option next to it first before you force the recording.
- Edit: This shows the Edit page for this recording job, allowing you to modify the settings to eliminate any conflicts.
- An alternative way to address conflicts is by modifying the priority of your recording job. If you head over to the Schedule page located at the top, you will find all the recording jobs along with their priorities listed on the left. After making your adjustments, remember to click the Save Priorities button at the top.
