How to Use the Live Transcription feature using the Schedule page.

Question:

I want to use Live Transcription for some of the recording jobs that I have scheduled in SnapStream?

Requirements:

• Live Transcription is only available on SnapStream Cloud systems.
• You must have enough transcription minutes available for the duration of the recording.
  NOTE:  Please contact your Customer Success Representative if you would like to increase the minutes included in your monthly transcription license.

Answer:

In order to Live Transcribe a recording, you will need to turn the Live Transcription option ON in the recording job responsible for making the recording.  This can be done when you initially creating a manual recording job, or by editing an already existing recording job.

Turning on Live Transcription when creating a manual recording job:

1. Sign into your SnapStream Cloud instance, and go to the Guide tab.
2. Right-click the channel that you want to create a manual recording job for, and select Create Manual Job.
   
   
3. Fill out the details for your new recording job, and turn on the option for Live Transcription before clicking the Create Button.
   

Turning on Live Transcription by editing a recording job:

1. Sign into your SnapStream Cloud instance, and go to the Schedule tab.
2. Locate the relevant recording job and click the edit icon.
   
3. Turn on the setting for Live Transcription, and click Save.
   
4. If the recording is already in progress, you will need to restart the recording for the setting change to take effect. 
   • This can be done by selecting the recording job from the schedule tab, and clicking disable.
     
   • Then selecting the recording job again and clicking enable.
     

Additional Notes:

• Another way to edit a recording job would be to right click the scheduled recording from the Guide page, and selecting View and Edit Details.
  
• The amount of transcription minutes that you have available is controlled by your transcription license.  Please contact your Customer Success Representative if you are interested in increasing the amount of minutes in your transcription license.
