SnapStream Encoder Quick Start Guides

There are two different types of SnapStream Encoders available, the SnapStream Component/HDMI Encoder and the SnapStream ATSC/QAM Encoder.

SnapStream Component/HDMI Encoder

The Component/HDMI Encoder is traditionally used to record component video sources such as cable boxes and satellite receivers. Click the link below to access the Quick Start Guide for the Component/HDMI Encoder.

The Component/HDMI Encoder is capable of recording HDMI video sources as well; however it is not recommended to use HDMI to record from cables boxes or satellite receiver due to HDCP protection. See our article on HDMI Television Sources and SnapStream for more information.
